Input into Draft Carp Control Plan sought from NSW anglers
The New South Wales Government has released its Draft Carp Control plan and is seeking feedback from the public regarding its recommendations.
The Plan provides a framework for carp management by looking at exisiting actions and identifying areas that should be prioritised action in the future.
Carp are listed as a Class 3 noxious fish in New South Wales under the noxious species provision of the Fisheries Management Act. This means it is not prohibited to keep or sell carp (including koi) but acknowledges that wild carp are a significant and widespread pest in New South Wales.
