Lemax Pro Team visits Australia
The Lemax Pro Team recently visited the west coast of Australia to put their rods to the test against the brutal punishment samsonfish are capable of handing out.
The destination was Perth, a location perfect for bending rods and stretching shoulders through the annual samsonfish season that comes about each summer. Through this period of the year the samsonfish are manic, they're schooling, they're spawning, they're hungry and to get into the action all that needs to be done is to drop something with a lot of flash and a big assist hook off to the side into the middle of them.
While knife jigs like the Williamson Speed Jig are generally used, these fish have been pulled up on weighted metal rulers, spanners and other artificial instruments of bling creative anglers have dropped into a school through the hungry periods of December and January.
On this occasion though it was all jigs and they were connected to the piece de resistance of the Lemax range - SlimMax rods. SlimMax rods are build around an incredibly thin, light and strong blank and are all kitted out with quality Fuji components and they were up to the task of hauling in these amazing fish.
After five days of back wrenching fun it was time to head back to Malaysia and leave us to read of their exploits during work hours, envious of what some people have as their day job, and wondering when it is we'll be on the water again.
