WA's Green's Pool future up for discussion
Fifteen kilometres west of Denmark is Western Australia's Green's Pool. It's a popular tourist attraction for the area offering swimming and fishing opportunities most of the year given its protected location.
Over recent years there have been calls for fishing to be banned in the area given the debris and rubbish left by anglers and instances of conflict between anglers, divers and swimmers. The Department of Fisheries is now considering the future of Green's Pool and is seeking public comment, particularly from the local community, regarding the closure of this area to "the taking of all marine life by line, net and spear within a defined area".
