Anglers are reminded that Western Australia's marron season closed at noon on Sunday 8 February.

The Department of Fisheries have commented that the number of licences issues this season were well up with over 9,000 licences being issued. The previous season saw 7,000 issued.

Following the season close a review is planned of the 2009 season to help determine sustainability issues before the dates of the coming season are decided.
