Naish gets in on the Kite Racing action - the new DRAFT
The new, ultra high aspect Naish Draft.
Talk about high aspect! This kite has wingtips the width of your pinkie finger, almost. In aerodynamic terms, that means low drag, high speed and super high angles upwind. Everything a racer demands in a kite. But will it stack up against new offerings from Ozone, North, and Cabrinha? As well as all the other dedicated race kites out there? We'll have to wait and see, when Naish get the IKA certification processed on the Draft.
Here's what Naish have to say about it:
"The Draft is a high performance freeride kite that excels at hooked-in riding, hang time and racing. This state-of-the-art design has powerful lift for boosting big airs and long gliding jumps.
The Draft features a Static Bridle Platform. This eliminates the pulley and keeps the kite stable and driving forward for unrivaled windward performance and downwind speed. The Draft has five struts on the 7, 9 and 12 sizes for added control in strong winds and three struts on the 14 and 17 sizes for light wind performance and faster turning.
Stability, high floating jumps, and speed are characteristics that define the Draft."
Sounds like Naish doesn't just want to peg the Draft into the racing corner, but branch out into the big air style of riding that's so common around Australia.
Stay tuned for the rider reviews and reports as Australian dealers get their hands on the gear. You'll find it all in the Seabreeze.com.au Gear Review Forums.
