Preliminary notice – Sunday start or standby
Fingers crossed we will be able to finish the comp this weekend. About 18 heats remain - Sunday is looking good at this stage. If the forecast changes for the worst we will go on standby to a later date, we will advise in due course.
If the event goes ahead, the safety & competitor briefing and outline of the day's event will be at Brighton Beach on Sunday morning at 11.00am with the first heats commencing ASAP after that.
We expect to wrap up the competition by about 6pm. Presentations will be at the Local Shack over a beer from about 7 which also happens to be the after party venue for Redkite!!
WAKSA Freestyle Clinic Wrap-up
WAKSA’s first freestyle clinic last Sunday shaped out to be a fun filled event, attracting riders of differing kiting abilities.
With the help of the coaches, riders left the clinic with smiles on their faces and new tricks in the bag. One member learnt a back roll within half hour and others landed their first railey (and more), after coming from no previous ‘unhooking’ experience. One of the more experienced riders was going for the harder tricks, such as the backmobe, which was impressing to see.
After the clinic, it was then the coaches’ turn to take centre stage as they entertained the crowd with their speccy tricks in perfect flat water conditions.
Thank you to all the coaches (Chrissy Gaudieri, Mark Richardson, Daniel Anderson & Simon Wichermann) for dedicating their time to the clinic. And thanks to the riders for making it down.
