F1 H20 Grand Prix of Ukraine 2011 is the fourth stop on the UIM F1 H2O World Championship tour. Racing is being held in the region of Kiev during the 29th and 30th July.
The question of the day around the UIM F1 H2O Championship tour here at the inaugural Grand Prix of Ukraine is who's that mysterious 'Mr. Chicken' who seems to be everywhere?
The mystery was solved when long-time Flagman and Pontoon marshall Marco Pietrini came up with a great idea to honor his good friend Marco Germanetto who was a world class junior athlete in the sport of Mountain Running who died in an automobile accident in 1999.
'We use our special mascot, the chicken, to promote the memory of a good friend by putting on concerts and special events to raise money for the Amici Association,' said Marco. 'This helps keep alive his spirit and do good deeds at the same time. It's great any way when you look at it.'
The Pollo Poletti mascot, who has travelled the world and recently returned from Australia, was seen roaming around the paddock getting to know all teams this morning and getting into the swing of things trying not to make itself a part of the lunch menu at the same time! We wish him continued good travels and stay away from any hot soup!
