Part of Kogarah Bay will be off limits to skippers for the safe staging of a speedboat event this weekend.

NSW Maritime Acting Director Sydney Operations & Service Delivery Trevor Williams said the special exclusion zone would be in place for the Speedboat Spectacular in Kogarah Bay this Saturday and Sunday.

'For safety reasons, those taking part in the event will have exclusive use of an area of Kogarah Bay in front of the St George Motor Boat Club between 9.30am and 4.30pm each day,' Mr Williams said.

'NSW Maritime vessels will be on hand to ensure only vessels associated with the event are permitted into the exclusive use areas.

'Skippers in the area should keep a proper lookout, adhere to speed limits and comply with safety rules.'
