'Team Purple take 2011 P1 150 Class title' Powerboat P1 Superstock Championship
The P1 150 Superstock race concluded in Liverpool with Stuart and Sara Cureton of Linford, Hants coming in fifth place and snagging the P1 150 Class title. The Team Purple crew have won six races this season but in choppy conditions on the Mersey River, they decided to race conservatively and the tactic paid off handsomely.

'It's a brilliant feeling to have won the P1 150 title with one race to go and we are both absolutely delighted', said Stuart, who also celebrated his 41st birthday today. 'For the first time this season we decided to go steady and watch what the others were doing and once we saw Team Fox had a clear lead we just made sure we did enough.'

Martin Colligan and Liam McDermott (St Helier, Jersey) romped to their first win of the year after early leader Macdonald Mermaid retired, whilst championship title challenger Eclipse driven by Rose Lores (Stubbington, Hants)/John Donnelly finished the race in second place but were later given a one minute time penalty for missing Mark 2.

Red driver Rob Hurst (Hemel Hempstead) recorded his best finish of the year after being promoted from third to second, with the Flying Sparks crew of Robert Booker (Reading) and local navigator Dale Williams (Wirral) moving into third place.
