UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship 2010 Edox Pole Position Champions, Welmax Offshore Racing, has announced that UK racer William Nocker has joined the team.

The Norwegian outfit's team owner and throttleman, Jorn Tandberg, confirmed that Nocker will join their line-up for the Italian Grand Prix in Cernobbio on Lake Como, 14-16 October.

Nocker, 46, from Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, steps-up into top-flight racing from competing in the Honda 225 UK championship and stints in P1, and has spent the last weeks testing extensively alongside Tandberg in Norway.

The team is yet to show its hand as to who Nocker will drive with when he makes his debut in Italy, but Tandberg has confirmed the team will run two boats, Welmax (90) and Pipe Welding (69) and will reveal the fourth member to join him, fellow Norwegian Kolbjorn Selmer and Nocker in the line-up in the coming weeks.
