How save on your next SUP - end of Summer Sale tips

With the end of summer comes, so does the early morning paddles in board shorts or a bikini.

The heat of summer might be going but this means less sunscreen, warm wetsuits, fantastic weather effects and for surfers - bigger swells and less crowds - an awesome time to be out Stand Up Paddling !!

And what if you had a shiny new board to paddle? A lighter-than-air paddle to use? Or even a new leggy to keep that board by your side?

New gear does wonders for enjoying your time on the water, and this time of year is the perfect time to grab a bargain from your local stand up paddling store.

So if you’re in the market for some new SUP gear, buy it now and save some serious cash.

Get the best possible deal on current model stand up paddling gear at your local SUP store, by following these tips!

1: Know what you want.
Use reviews, demo days and forum threads to work out what you want. By this time of year you should already know what boards and paddles are hot, and what’s not.

2: But don’t be picky.
Size, construction and colour options are by now, not an option anymore. For the best deal, be prepared to take whatever size or build the SUP store has left in stock – even if it’s a fluro orange and blue one! There are also used or ex-demo boards are now filling the market, so consider buying second hand (Or privately from the Seabreeze SUP Classifieds!)

3: Be confident.
Knowing what you want can make it easy for you and the shop.   Know the features, understand the construction, know what's important to you.

4: Use your niche.
Female specific models, small sizes, shorter boards and race gear are all canidates for deals. Great news for lighter/larger riders and those who aren’t average.

5: Pay with cash.
Real cash, not your Credit Card. A giant wad of pineapples (that means $50 notes) is far more effective at scoring a deal than your credit card - the banks will take a cut.     Let it be known that you have cash, and see if that helps.   Don’t wait until you get to the counter!

6: Shop local.
Friendly faces get friendly discounts, especially If you’re a return customer. Pay an extra few bucks for a paddle the first time at your local shop, and you might save that and more on next summer’s purchase. Everybody likes loyalt.   Help the store out on demo days, share one of their Facebook posts or give them a shout out in the Seabreeze SUP Forums for extra discounts!

7: Sell your gear privately.

Trading in your old stand up paddle boards and paddles might be fast, but it costs you money. Shops typically give you 70% of your SUP gears retail value as a trade-in. Sell your SUP or Paddle online with Seabreeze instead, and you might just get 30% more for it!
