The Jimmy Lewis Sidewinder has been in development for a year and riders from round the world got involved to give feed back to Jimmy on what they needed from an ultimate sup race board.

Jimmy Lewis is synonymous with making some of the best quality boards on the market; with tried & tested shapes & a designer who prides himself in the quality & construction of his craft. He has been shaping and building boards for almost 50 years now, starting out shaping surfboards in 1968. Surfboards, windsurf boards, kiteboards and stand up boards - he's laid plane to foam on them all - and there isn't another shaper on earth who's had the same success in all of these different sports, as Jimmy Lewis himself.

Not only does he shape, Jimmy can build any of these boards from start to finish, completing all the steps in the construction process with masterful precision. There are no staff of "designers" in charge of putting out new shapes for each season. Jimmy does all of the prototypes and plugs for production himself. Many of his shapes are timeless - no "new" shapes each year for the sake of selling more boards. Some shapes in his line are not going to change. Ever. They will do what they're made to do just as well today as they did when they were first introduced.

Using only the most hi-tech, best strength-to-weight ratio composite construction there is, the Jimmy Lewis Stand up paddle boards utilize a thin layer (3mm or 1/8") of high density PVC foam, attached to boards core with a layer of fiberglass or carbon between the two. Another layer of fiberglass or carbon is laminated on the outside of that layer to form a sandwich, giving Jimmy Lewis boards the strength and rigidity required to win races, surf waves or effortlessly glide through the flats.
