The perfect paddle craft for a perfectly calm lake
The things you can experience on a stand up paddle board are nothing short of amazing, just like these shots of Ke Nalu team paddler - Jason Morton as he enjoys the scenery while paddling on Leigh Lake in the USA.
No, there’s no photoshop trickery here, this is flat water stand up paddling at its best. Not a breath of wind, incredible scenery and a mate to share it with (and to take photos!). The location here is Leigh Lake, in the Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming and those mountains in the background are the famous Rocky’s. That means it’s cold, but for scenery like this, would you brave it in boardies and a t-shirt?
We would, and the pictures were actually taken a few months ago in the northern hemispheres summer, by Dan Gavere. He’s the guy behind that website Supinstruction.com, and the two were in Jackson, Wyoming to film some whitewater scenes.
Situated over 1000 kilometers from the coast, Leigh Lake is also more than 6500ft high, making it far from the typical stand up paddling holiday destination. After seeing these pics however, we’re sure that more than a couple of stand up paddle boards will be stroking across that glassy water this summer…
