"Since 1974, vaccination has averted 154 million deaths, including 146 million among children younger than 5 years of whom 101 million were infants younger than 1 year. For every death averted, 66 years of full health were gained on average, translating to 10?2 billion years of full health gained. We estimate that vaccination has accounted for 40% of the observed decline in global infant mortality, 52% in the African region. In 2024, a child younger than 10 years is 40% more likely to survive to their next birthday relative to a hypothetical scenario of no historical vaccination."

"One demographic predictor of belief in conspiracy theories is education level. Various studies revealed that high education levels predict a decreased likelihood that people believe in conspiracy theories."

Sure. Some are humbled from time to time.

Overpopulation. Thanks, vaccines.
Does that mean these statistics are are incorrect, or just made up ?
Technically are all statistics not made up ? Surely somebody somewhere makes them up or do statistics occur anywhere without human creation ?
I can't think of any examples. Do African potato yeilds always exactly equal the same ratio of rainy days or something ?
How do the other 12.8% of statistics exist if they are not made up ?
Or is the statement not exclusive, and is only one truth amongst many. 87.2% of statistics are made up, so are 50% and also 93.7%. All three could be true statements simultaneously I guess.
Fun Fact : 87.2% was the percent of the vote for Vladamir Putin in the March 2024 Russian presidential election.
We estimate that vaccination has accounted for 40%....
Well there is one one self-confessed made up statistic then.
myscreenname - 1
remaining made up statistics waiting to be proven to be made up - 86.7%
I think I got the topic wrong. It should have read:
43.7 per cent of all statistics are made up on the spot.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Also, of all the made up statistics 43.6% are made up by the right wing media, Trump, Trump's corrupt cronies, MAGA populist supporters, or people who I chose to identify as the type of people who might know somebody who may or may not be a Trump supporter or know somebody in their family who once spoke to somebody who may have been a Trump voter.
Before Trump and Murdoch less than 1% of all statistics were made up. Biden has never made up a statistic. Democrat statistics are fully adjusted to be exactly equal and completely representative of the 87.2% of US population who voted Kamala in the 2024 US Presidental election.
Looking back over the 30 year history of seabreeze.com.au it is irrefutable that any way you look at the data it shows:
87.2% of Carantoc's posts are correct, concise, informative yet entertaining
12.8% of Carantoc's posts are awesome
43.7% of Carantoc's posts are both
over 75% of myscreename's posts were made under a different username
62.4% of remery's posts resulted in him getting a forum ban for offensive behaviour and breaking the rules
98.7% of the dullest posts were made by Formulanova
The first modern athlete to throw the discus while rotating the whole body was Franti?ek Janda-Suk from Bohemia (the present Czech Republic).[4] Janda-Suk invented this technique when studying the position of the statue of Discobolus. After a year of developing the technique, he earned a silver medal in the 1900 Olympics.

Well there is one one self-confessed made up statistic then.
Five out of four people have trouble with fractions.
Wow-ser.
Crunching the data shows that not only are 98.7% of the dullest posts on seabreeze.com.au made by Formulanova, but 98.7% of all posts by Formulanova are dull.
Simple coincidence ?
Or is this some sort of statistical constant permeating through all of the universe in a previously undiscovered universal law ?

He created a topic some years ago about Virtue Signalling.
It was quite interesting..
Best thing we can do is realise this, come together and do what we can to bring about peace on Earth once again.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
