Hi all,
I am looking for a new bluetooth speaker to go in my tinny. My engine noise is between 80-90 decibels so it would need to be louder than that. Has anyone got any good recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

80-90 dB!

Has to be Shure 215... anything else will be all outboard.

I will need to measure it (outboard noise) again but i am sure it is somewhere about 80 DB the old yammy 30 2 stroke is not the quiestest of machines.

JBL Boombox has been recommended by the Thundercat fellas to me before.

Try & get one with the usb slot that you can use for a back up cell ph battery , my JBL had this feature but the charging inlet was flimsy and it only lasted 18 months , replaced with Bose sound link but now find the software in it is not compatable with my laptop bluetooth dongle , so wont play utube but will play internet radio ..?, great sound tho. .

Don't muck around just get a JBL Charge. I use it one in my boat, super long battery life and waterproof.
It is an absolute banger. My seven speaker pioneer system now lives in the shed.
All we use is now is the JBL, the versatility and sound is just so good.

I got a Charge 3. Sound is a bit disappointing -- very muddy. Even using it in the living room for music it's just so mushy and flat.

Reviews say it's better for outdoor use, so maybe that's the solution.

Loud enough to leave in one room and wander around the house doing painting though, so there's that.

I have a $20 no-brand thing that I use for various things, including instead of the built-in speakers for the iPad when I've watching Netflix, and the audio quality is far better ... although it doesn't have the outright power of the Charge.

The club house guy has the bigger version of the Charge, whatever that is called -- great big thing. Sound is similar quality, but very, very loud.

Pretty loud, I love music and turn most things to full noise, this more than ticks the box.

Er... headphones?

I'd go a pair of In Ear Monitors (IEMs) as they'll cut out most of the engine noise.

Note: You will be completely deaf to your surroundings. 100%.

Thanks for the responses guys. I like the look of a few recommendations yous have given me. I will be making a purchase in the next two weeks based on what people on here have said and also what a few mates have told me.
Cheers,
