Brothers and Sisters, loyalty to a political party has never been a strong point. I'm a swinging voter, always have been. Most times I've been dissapointed with the result.

I gave Albo the chance last election. Not really because he was Albo, but because LNP were hopeless. Abbot, Turnbull, Morrison were all duds and Albo failed spectacularly too with the failed referendum vote, cost of living, energy, defence and housing. I don't really like Dutton much, he's a bogan QLD'r. I wouldn't call Dut a populist leader, because he's unpopular. But think with the world as it is today - pretty effed up - he would likely be a better leader for Australia than friendly DJ Albo and his team.

IDK, can anyone convince me that Albo and his team are better placed and need another term to fix all the issues?

Well I'm a bogan QLD'r too so that's no reason to dislike Mr. Potato Head. Thankfully there are plenty of other reasons to dislike him. The main one being he's going to try and keep coal and gas going as long as he can, pumping carbon into the atmosphere and ruining the climate. Talk of nuclear power plants is just a distraction. They will cost a fortune, take forever to build and not make nearly enough power when they finally switch on. Not to mention they will compete with renewables rather than complement them.

Another reason is his record of cruelty to refugees during his time as immigration minister.

I could go on, but discussing politics in here is against the rules. I may have to lock this thread, or ban myself, or both.

What if I hold a gun to your head and threaten your unborn child???
Not that I think Albo can fix all the issues, we'd be lucky if he fixes one.
But he won't create as many more new ones as Dutt would

Albo has an annoying whining voice. I don't think he's a particularly good leader and doesn't read the room well. The referendum was a disaster. His energy policy is half baked and the cost of living will be his undoing. The public will likely punish him for it.

Dutton, probably will stuff things up. His nuclear plans are half baked too. I don't see nuclear power ever being rolled out in Australia. What I think may happen is that he will balk at net zero and just roll out our natural gas. Sure he was mean to refugees, but maybe that's why we don't perceive them to be a problem now.

Dutton will most likely back away from the nuclear plan if elected. He's following the Trump election play book.

You'se all reckon both Albo and Dutton will still be their party leaders by the time we get to the next election ?

Recent history suggests it is not a foregone conclusion......

Albo will be. Rudd Mk2 managed to get a rule change so that the leader is chosen by party members, not just the caucus.

Lot of faith you have there.

I think the backroom union boys see the ALP rules a bit more like the pirate code than an actual set of rules......

...and the Liberal leader is determined by whatever the little group of outback Queensland weirdo National Party members decide they want this week because that's how it was back in their day.

Albo is spending way too much money. The ALP loves loaning money.

Buy now pay later. Should be their slogan.

It would almost be tolerable if they spent it well.

Mind you Liberal party have shown themselves to be just as irresponsible in recent years. It's dumb and dumber. Just for record Albo is dumber.

What makes matters worse, is there is a hand full of puppet "independent" that are paid for by the woke left, cheering anything remotely populist and green at the expense of bigger long term visions.

Campaign slogans, always stupid but some capture the imagination.

For example: If you don't know vote no.

Dutton says he is going to put us 'Back on Track'

We'll have to wait for Albo's.

Think it was " on your back"
.Might now be " building something or other for Australia or somewhere".
