I'm looking to get a random orbital sander to use for finishing off refurbishments to my foils and the odd small ding repair.

Can I get some recommendations on brands and models of good sanders for the job, and any important features?

Most of the readily available products have 125mm, 8 hole discs. 2.5mm orbit. Variable speed. Good dust filtering. Cordless would be nice.

Do yourself a favour and make sure whatever you buy can be hooked up to a shop vacuum, carbon dust, well any dust isn't nice to breath in and the dust filtering by an attached bag isn't up to scratch.

Thanks. I think all of my favoured brands have attachments for a vacuum.

I'm currently doing all hand wet sanding and doing it outdoors. I'd probably hook a sander up to my home vac which has HEPA filters. I used to use a Vax when I was making boards, but it melted through operator error.
