I'm thinking Kate Blanchett as the lead, Ben Mendelson as her husband, Bryan Brown, Judy Davis, Sam Neil and Jacki Weaver as the victims.
Police charge Erin Patterson with murder over deadly Leongatha mushroom lunch.
Going to need dragons. They all have dragons these days.
And a love interest. I'm thinking Carantoc could play the younger, charming, handsome love interest. Maybe a few unnecessary shirt-off scenes to get the audience hooked ?

I'm seeing you more as the owner of the tip, who retrieves the CCTV footage for police of Cate Blanchette dumping the food dehydrator. You are fat, uneducated, redneck Aussie in late 50s and have dirty torn clothes. It would be a speaking part.
I think it would be great to have you in the cast. You will get access to secondary catering with the other extras for the days you are on set.
HA!!! This will work. Not a lot more writing required.
Jacki has to play Erin though. . . particularly after her role in Ivan Sen's Goldstone and Animal Kingdom.

After much deliberation and negotiations, lead roles have been set in stone.
I'm thinking now of extras from Seabreeze. I haven't worked it all out, but snoidberg, could play himself as a forensic food technologists who has specialist knowledge and a passion for mushroom toxicty. He is skinny, on the spectrum a genius he's unkempt eccentric and will require a lab coat. Remery could be the leading police investigator, a dry man who will stop at nothing to get to the truth.
Both roles would be speaking parts and actors would be entitled to secondary catering. Due to the demanding nature of the investigator role and length required on set, I'd offer Remery a $20 drink card per day and modest shared accommodation at the Leongatha caravan park.
Ok, interesting. More attempted murder charges laid.
I've been thinking of a two-bit role for FormulaNova, If he's up to it. Maybe a non speaking part as an early victim or a suspicious neighbor. It would be great to see him on board.
Unfortunately, producers have decided no catering for non speaking parts. We will however set up a tent with a vending machine with snack bars and drinks for non speaking extras. We can also pay them a modest petrol allowance for travel between Melbourne and Leongatha. FN, could share a ride with some other two-bit non speaking extra and pocket the extra $$$
The producers of 'The Mushy Murderer' limited series (2023) acknowledge Bunurong People as the first peoples and Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and waterways on which we live. We honour and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Yes, but what is the character of the owner of the tip you want me to play ?
Tequila sponsors the adds during breaks.
Maybe a new flavor, instead of the worm we throw a cap mush inside the bottle.

Think of Shane Jacobson in the role he played in Kenny. A fat happy-go-lucky helpful and witty c(!)nt.

A welcome to country is a bit ironic on Bunurong land. So many rednecks around there.

Not only am I onboard, but I will join and bring my own packed lunch. I will also offer a lift to anyone else that needs to come along.
I think I know someone in Leongatha but I wouldn't be surprised if they were driving to WA at the time, so that's no help.
Can I be the crazy person that sits inside all day on his computer and points out spelling and grammar mistakes online?
Do you need me to write the theme tune as well ?
Yes please. Are you able to elaborate on the music and theme?
Not fixed on anything yet, just throwing ideas out there -
How about a reworking of the Wiggles Hot Potato, Hot Potato to a mushroom theme ?

Hmmmm, maybe we could make it a Benny Hill style limited series comedy. Magda could play Erin. She has same body shape.

Hey, FN
You don't need to bother, I'll bring lunch, you are welcome to tuck in.
I'll do a nice mushroom wellington, specially for you.
Hey, where is the callup sheet for this? I have been waiting by the mailbox for days and still don't know what the address is.
The rumours going around is that you have now outsourced this and it will be filmed in Mumbai. Tell me that's not true. I can only afford to fly one way.

Is this going to be a Bollywood production ?
mmmm, that changes my thinking on the theme tune quite somewhat.
More strumming sitars, less blowing of Greg's trumpet.

Forget about the theme music. The producers have secured Danny Elfman. If you just focus on being fat and grubby for your role.

Hey, was this addressed to me? I didn't think so until I read the last bit.
