Hello all,
Over the past month I've been getting into foiling. Starting off behind the boat. I decided to get out my old kite gear and give kite foiling a go. It was a fail, with the kite losing air slowly.
I noticed there was not a single person riding any foil though. There was about 30-40 kite boarders out there, but not a single foil of any kind. I was at Pinnaroo point just north of Hillarys (Perth). Is this normal? Or is there a different location that foilers ride? I'm thinking of giving winging a go, but wondering if I'm at the wrong location...?

Weed
If you're NOR and want flat water winging its pinnaroo or Hillary's (north of the breakwater). Foilers at pinnaroo usually down near the playground in the windsurf area but it seems a lot have buggered off to Hillarys due to the parking situation now.
As hilly says, fkn weed. Otherwise river, or head south.
I've tried various places, like once each. Hillaries North, the river in a few places. No real joy as a complete beginner. Either too choppy in the ocean, or too shallow in the river. And I fear I was sold the wrong foil, but that's a different thread.
How did you go behind the boat?
Melville, between the windsurfers and kiters is ok. I've heard good reports about the Mandurah estuary south of Dawesville, and Bunbury.
Theyre busy gumming down jello and butter at the nurseing home waiting for the next yoyo to come out from the surf industry
