Why it's a good idea to use loudspeaker and put phone in airplane mode as much as possible.

CDC explanation is reassuring.

Any phone (iphone or not) will only increase it's output power in the RF spectrum when it's a long way from a tower (20Km or so) so it can communicate with it. When you are in an urban environment it does not go full blast as it's wasting battery. Do you understand anything about non ionizing radiation and propagation? Maybe you are holding it wrong?

You're correct about increase in radiation when long way from a tower.
And as far as to the question if am I holding it wrong, I'm sure not holding it to my ear canal.
The Guardian? RUOK.
I'm not tied to any one news source but what's the relevance here? You're saying the story is false because it was reported in the Guardian?
Use one of these and you will never have to charge your phone again.

So you use speaker mode with your phone over 30cm from your head. Must be great in windy conditions.
Do you have electrical cables in your house, the EMF coming of those is stronger than what your phone puts out when you plug in a 1000w+ device
Use one of these and you will never have to charge your phone again.

I'm not putting wire cables up against my head or next to my nuts though?

Electric devices in your house emit emf. Not non-ionising radiation. The safe limits of non ionisong radiation are not well known or proven. Ask brain surgeons if they encorage their kids to use speaker with their phones

I only know one neurosurgeon and two neuroscientists. None of them are even slightly concerned about mobile phone radiation.
The vidwo i posted is old. My point is they dont know what causes brain tumors. They cant say something doesnt cause or contribute. Its no effort to get kids to use speaker wherever possible. I think its still the current health advise/ best practice. Its an easy mitigation especially for kids.when things are developing.
Non ionising radiation and its long term effects are a lot less studied and known then ionising radiation. The current safety limits are based on old limits of heating of skin tissue.
www.arpansa.gov.au/understanding-radiation/radiation-sources/more-radiation-sources/mobile-phones
No established evidence that mobile phones cause adverse health effects in humans.
The dramatic rise in mobile phone use since early 2000's has not seen a linked rise in brain tumours of any type.
Generally speaking at work we have safety policies in place for lower frequency transmitters as they can cook meat at lower transmission power. Higher frequency transmitters are only isolated if they are also high power.
(Eg. MF/HF radio and satellite comms transmitters).
Safety limits and guidelines are based on ability to heat tissue inside the body, not just heat the skin. I'd hate to find out what it feels like to have organs heated while still using them.

All good Paul. I'm off to the pub to have a few cold ones and pash strangers. Have a good weekend mate.

I'm married to a neuroscientist who spent four years in a specially built lab at ANU researching mobile phone radiation. She is not concerned about it, either.
However from previous experience I know that her direct research will be treated with contempt and fury here by people whose "research" consists of watching Youtube.

You're wife obviously knows a lot more about this topic than I do as a casual observer however I'm still curious as to why institutions like The University of Melbourne would host such lectures if the science was settled?
And yes, I'm linking this video from YouTube, it wasn't shown on TV.
I own an iPhone 12 and the video above introduced me to an interesting item. If you go into your settings on iPhone > General > Legal & Regulatory > RF Exposure you'll be met with Apple giving you some tips to reduce exposure to RF energy.
Telstra is also quoting WHO guidelines recommending to use hands free to reduce exposure.
