Its confirmed I suck at getting into deep water body dragging into sub 10kn onshore breeze.
I upped from 24in mast to 30in wow 6in plus more water needed.
I need to be taller or significantly improve body draging into onshore breezes.
Amy magic tips?
Thought this deserved a new post topic as surley I am not alone on this???

Hold the board like a shield get a bit of aparent going in the body drag and the foil will track upwind.

Hi Ric , long time but both still at it.
110 mast is only a vision atm.
More like going back to 24in.
But today in sub direct on shore
10kn on Slingshot school 30in and 12m Cloud strutless kite got up.
The plus to poor up wind body dragging makes me faster getting up before dragging into shallows and hitting foil on the bottom.
Maybe a lighter mast and foil could help but at now session 9 just happy with help before bigger investment.

There is a simple rule..... when think you have body dragged out far enough to get going in on shore conditions, slap yourself, and body drag out for another two minutes!!

Ya, that sounds about right! Take that extra time knowing that you will go down wind a fair bit in light wind before your wind speed is up and you are planing. If there are little or no waves to get past, once to hit the three foot deep mark drop the foil so its sits normally on the water. Place your forearm across the top of the board slightly forward of the mast. The efficiency of the foil will help you move up wind very quickly. You must keep pressure forward to stop the board from lifting. Bigtone's rule is a good one.

Another simple rule.

Flag sub 10 knots while you are learning. Slap yourself and go out in 15 knots.
