In light of RAL INN's purchase....
The purpose would be to take some load when using the kite for extended minutes - hooked into the centre of lift or close to this.
I watched a light wind Off-shore WINGDING video which covered 2+ hours relying on the wing to stay foiling...
Also if you got caught over-powered it would probably be use able to a point but a struggle just using your arms..
Assuming you have a harness (Kite or Windsurfer)
I would want a quick release - Like a Witchard Style with a release velcroed to my wrist
But not quite sure how it would work with the existing leash..
Thoughts??
Cheers
AP..
Harnesses wouldn't work at present unless it was really nuking. The length (tip to tip) is so long that anything over a 3m design needs to be raised above shoulder height to stop it catching in the water until you get onto the foil. If you look at the promo videos, you see the riders frequently catching the tips in the water even when on the foil.
In the very early days of windsurfing there was a system that used two lines going to curved plates that fitted in palm of hand.
you placed these on boom under hands so lines back to harness belt took load.
Maybe something like this might work
Definitely..
Just single line so need a string of them
At 8m it is huge...
