Hi,
I have a few days holidays coming up and as I haven't put in much time in learning to use my foil board, thought it would be a good thing to drive off from my local haunt at Kingscliff and go find a place to practice for a few days.
I'm looking for somewhere with flatish water, preferable standing height, without strong currents. I'd probably drive as far as Hervey Bay but if there's somewhere worth it would drive further. I say Hervey Bay coz' I've never kited there before and am curious, but any suggestions would be appreciated. I have a 70cm mast if that helps.
Thanks

Did a run a few years back HBay over to Fraser.. But part of a big group.. With lunch and support boat!!!
A couple of the crew foiled and regularly went there..
A bit further Nort Andrew's place at Elliott heads.. Special ....
Other wise your call open sea v. Protected..often tidal.. A lot of quality crew run out of Redcliffe.. On Moreton bay..
Plenty to choose from.. Have fun
Cheers

Lake weyba is the best learning spot around Sunshine coast.
Downsides: long walk out, drift launch
Upsides: chest deep all the way, no currents, lots of room, small chop
Brighton or Sandgate north side of Brisbane is a great place to start.
Two local kite shops if you want some foiling advice.
Enjoy
Cheers for the suggestions guys. Probably will give Brisbane a go today, haven't been up that way for years- I remember how crowed it used to get though, so hope it won't be a problem with a nube Foiler floundering about.
Defo interested in getting up to Hervey Bay and maybe as far as Elliot Heads sometime soon
Thanks again
