I'm riding the Triton X1 for light wind kiting and love it, but looking for something a bit quicker for when the wind picks up. Thinking about the new Ultrajet 850 or the older kite 810 front wings. Does anyone have any experience with both? I can't find any reviews of the 850, let alone any comparison.
I mostly enjoy free foiling and swell riding mostly. I don't get out as much as I'd like to, so OK jibing but still working our foot switches. I'm not interested in anything too technical, hard to ride, or super fast, just a comfortable easy ride foil.
Hi Drew,
Sorry to not really answer your question, but have you tried the T1 if you love the X1?
I spent the 3 day weekend rotating between T1, X1, and the new X1 Pro. All different, all nice to ride. However the X1 is definitely a bit slow, the T1 is the best for kite foil when there's enough wind.
Pair it with a kite you can throw around and a small agile board and the whole thing comes alive under you. Lean back on heelside and light it up, and it's got all the speed you need. There was a random fella from Sydney riding an Axis high aspect (ART 699 maybe) with high modulus mast, and he was no faster than the T1.

I haven't tried the 850 but own the 810, it's a really fun wing to ride and find it doesn't do anything badly. It's a bit too quick for good swell riding, you need to keep turning to avoid outrunning the kite but I expect that's what your after. Your welcome to try it whenever you want if your up near Redcliffe at all.
Hello Drew ,
Bit of a late reply but I can give you some input on both kite 810 and ultrajet 850 and 1050. I demo'd both as I own a 2020 1032cm thruster and wanted a bit more speed. The 850 uj was quick but still a little trackish , definitely no lift compared to the thruster I was on a 6m with 24 - 28 knots. The 1050 ultrajet was very similar to my thruster 1032 , a bit more speed but not as much as I was thought considering higher aspect shape. Lift was in between the 850 and thruster, you could push it hard and it kept going without the fear of it launching up out of the water. Now onto the 810 kitefoil this thing was chalk and cheese compared to my thruster , first dive of the kite it didn't have any lift feeling im used too and needed a bit more down wind before it pops you up. Once your up and going the 810 is pure fun, it's happy cruising around but it really excels when you push it hard, it just keeps accelerating with zero lift compared to the thruster. It won't ride swell when you bar out and I had to hold alot more speed when switching feet a little tricky but I'll get used to it. After riding these back to back the only choice was the kite810 which I purchased that day. For me the 810 will be for Bay riding redcliffe/ sandgate and the thruster for waves and swell riding. If you wanted to only have 1 wing as an all-rounder I would lean towards the 1050uj I wouldn't look at the 850uj for brisbane conditions you would spend more time in the water then up and riding.
