Nailed my first flying foot transitions today. Yay!

Been stuck on that for ages! Buying a new board was the key. Everything is just clicking for me now I've moved on from my old clunker liquid force to a brand-spanker Crazyfly Up. She's a ripper.

Nice on its a nice feeling changing feet on the fly.
We all have something that's seems to be impossible until that day it just clicks.

On that topic of backroll tack. What's the key to get them? If you had to focus on 1 point, what would you say it is?

Concentrate on 360's first, they are easier. You want to be powered, bigger kites are definitely easier to learn with.
If you normally use a 7 mtr, use a 9 mtr in same conditions, it will give you the extra lift you need.
Straps help, at least a front ones, you will be able to keep hold of the board.
Look over your shoulder through the turn. Turn the board with your front heel, not your back foot as this will cause you to fall off the back of the board.
When you start learning tacks, you need to be proficient at toeside starts. A tack is just a 360 but you have to stop the turn half way.

Thanks airsail.
The biggest issue I have (after maybe 70 attempts) is that after the foot change, the board is heeling the same way that before the tack. I am getting close I think but need perseverance

Not sure were your kiting, but I will be Foiling every week day evening at Largs bay until 3rd March and all day say/sun if there is 6knots or more. I am happy to share some tips on tacking, foiling etc.

I landed today at 4:30 (from the UK) and was on the water by 6:00 for an excellent 1hr session (Jet lag buster!).
