I picked up the new Slingshot Apollo 60 wing a few days ago. This wing is a slightly scaled down version of the Moses 633 and is from the same designer. It is 609mm wide with a surface area of 1120cm2. I took it out for the first time yesterday afternoon. The wind was blowing a gusty 10 - 17 knots. I was on my 9m Hyperlink.
To say I was impressed by this wing is an understatement. This was the best session I have ever had on a foil. 360s and tacks to toe side were a breeze on this wing. It almost felt like cheating. Foiling foot swaps were at least 50% easier. On my old H5 wing, any sloppy foot placement errors weren't tolerated and ended up in a fall. On this wing, my pocket board felt like I was standing on a pool table.
Speed range was fantastic. I could water start comfortably in the lighter winds and stay on the foil at low speeds but could also push it to as fast as I felt comfortable going. Noticeably faster than my old wing. Carvy S-turns were smooth and fun. Very loose feeling while still being in control. I'm really looking forward to a session in the waves on this set up.
One final bonus, the wing appears to be neutrally or slightly positively buoyant. The old wing would sink like a stone making strapless starts tricky to learn initially. This wing sinks very slowly in comparison, so water starts are far more relaxed and handing the foil in the water is much easier as the buoyancy aids getting the board onto it's side.
If you own a Slingshot foil, I would HIGHLY recommend this wing.

Looks like we are gonna have plenty of new gear to try out this summer! Can't wait to try my 683 and 790. Was about to give it a crack yesterday only to realise that I took only the kite fuselage with me...
Nice Duke I've known about this wing for a while now a was waiting on a review. Alex Fox and Sam light have a vid out raving about it. I'm not running a SS HG set up at the moment so I can't try it. But with any luck the SS phantasm range will be out soon, so I will get back to a SS foil.
Good review too.
Thanks bud. Yes, I bought it based on the enthusiasm shown by Fox, Vantol and the Houston Kiting guys in the US. And given that it's a copy of the 633, I thought it was worth the punt. Hey, what is the Phantasm range? I haven't heard about that yet.

Oh yeah. Your new quiver of Moses foils has me very envious. Can't wait to try the 683S.
The Phantasm Dreamline range is Slingshots new carbon range, surf, kite, wind & sup. Multiple wings one fuse for all 4 mast lengths. High end not date or prices yet.
Nice review thanks Duke. Couple of questions...
Does it fit in standard slingshot alloy hoverglide foil?
Are they really $700 for the front wing? Seems a lot just for a wing (I'm still tempted though)
Hi KB,
Yes, the Apollo 60 slots straight on to the standard HG fuse. My HG is a 2017 model. I bought my wing from Action Sports in WA for a good discount - $499 - as they are clearing their Slingshot stock. They have some good deals on other SS wings like the infinity76 etc. HoweverI think I got their only Apollo 60 though. It's a really nice wing to ride. I now see why the Moses 633 is so well regarded.
