Hi all..
Been dry few months for foiling.. After picking up 1200 nd 2400 Armstrong wings off a perennial upgrader
Renovations for sale house.. Burning the candle on the. BBQ not just both ends
My experience todate is on infinity 76 about 1500 cms2
Took 1200 out neutral shim big board sub 10 knots Peak4 8m wind straight on. Struggling to get deep enough to launch waves nudge nudge nudge back onto sand bank..
Had. Ball but getting pinned to shore line due so little energy to play with..
On I76.. Would have got cruising easier but feels like running in a track compared to 1200..
What can I expect if I put 2400 wing on??
I would like to have leeway to angle a little more upwind without dropping off the wing so turning back downwind.. = waves breaking on shallow banks..
(BTW.. Beach goers with umbrellas were not struggling to keep them from flying off.. It was lite....)..
Cheers

At my skill level - (+Gear with no idea)
Pinned to the shoreline trace....
Will the bigger wing enable me to head up wind more in these lighter conditions??
When time permits I will give it a crack.. probably put the +1 shim on to lower the lift (renovating sheds kilos down to 70 pies despite shoveling in the coal and chugging a beer or 2)
Cheers

my experience with the Peaks and my Axis 680 (1120cm) is that I struggle to ride upwind when underpowered. This is why i now own the 13. Onshore wind is extra tricky because the waves push you back onto the sand constantly. I would expect your bigger wing will help significantly, as would going up a kite size. Im currently 92kg and ride the 13m in that sort of wind. My 8 works from 12-15 and the 5 from 15+

I reckon a P4 11m will find a place between the
8-13m P4.
I have put my order in Hahaha they are foil kite weapons the P4s
Well I had to try.. Got spanked.. The kit.. 2400 cms2 wing 4m Peak4.. Lake Cootharaba.. Big board to allow for self rescue.. Wind drop to 8knts peaked at 24 (rain squall chugged thru ).. Traditional gusty place The average speed on session.. 9 to 15 kmph. So fun but also tricky re speed band b4 stall... I found hieght control. Was way harder. Also more sensitive to body position.. Slightly off vertical sweet spot and board walked sideways.. The kite does not handle gusts as well as 8m very lively and volatile.. Stall to full bore in quick succession..
Not getting this combo out the cupboard again for kiting.. V.low wind with 8m kite would easily be up in 6 knts.. A better combo would be around 1500 cms2 for low wind..
