Hi, just got back from two weeks in Balian, not much wind but reasonable surf every morning, only too big one day. Weather beautiful, not too hot but board shorts every day. Managed to kite a few days at Sanur but only about 10 gusting to 15 knots. Wind at Balian much the same just a bit lighter. Enjoy, its a beautiful place.
Going to be in Bali next week with the family. Probably only going to get 1 day to kite so not going to take allmy gear. Anyone know what the hire gear is like at Sanur?
I'm also back last week from a trip to Bali. Had a 2 week holiday with the family. Had some awesome surfing, and the trades seemed much stronger than my only other trip to Bali 2 years ago, when there was no wind at all. I didn't bother taking my kites this time... and wished I had.
Our last 5 days was in Canggu, and 3 of them were most definitely kite-able - there were around 5+ kites out on each of these days. And some mega swell also. It would have been great on a 12m and surfboard. Kicking myself now for leaving the kite at home...
Strongest winds are to be found in Aceh, Sumatra. Same season. May to end of September. This is what it looks like now!

Undiscovered beauty while riding.
Last week was pretty good. Last 3 days quite light but good for em as now I'm on a Hydro... Nice to be out there by myself.. Loving the Hydro thing..
Forecast looking good again from next Sunday.
Plenty of wind in Eka's south of Lombok if you want to stay in the area!
Ciao Jankie
Heading over in 10 days, or should i say hoping to head over.
Wont be so bad if the trip home is delayed for awhile.
Heading home today, Team series scratched from riding at low tide, two blown struts bladders plus a ripped strut housing, several slightly infected coral scrapes, sore from head to toe, and hung over like a mangy dog this morning ......all in all an awesome kite trip really.
Enjoy fellas.
... heard its still getting upto 25 knots on occasion, tropical 25 knots none the less but whose counting?? Damn sight warmer too than Melbs or Bris-vegas or even Perrrt!!!!! Looking forward to some skinny wind action me is!!!
We are grounded as well.
Kudos to Jetstar, they have looked after us today, food vouchers and put us up in a nice motel tonight.
Have another go early tomorrow morning.
