Hi kiters, don't suppose anyone knows people hiring kite gear for reasonable prices in the Brunswick Heads Byron area? I found one business asking $180 for 3 hrs! I could buy a rig after a few days kiting!
cheers

Haha, sounds like a bargain, given the high cost of kite gear! Unless the gear is pretty much trashed already.

I'd say that $180 for 3 hrs is a bargain. The gear you are hiring is worth several thousand dollars when new.

$180 for 3 hours is market value , take it or leave it. .... Go for a 1 hour horseride instead maybe...Oh that's $100 an hour...

That is cheap compared to other places . I was at Kailua Hawaii around 7 years ago itching for a kite and the only way to get out kiting was to pay for a 3 hour lesson for $150 US . Instructor could tell i was an experience kiter so he launched me and i gave the gear back 3 hrs later , worth every cent if ya wanna kite. BTW i have absolutely no affiliation with shops

No affiliation with any shops here either. But if you've been around kites for awhile, you should be aware of how quickly they lose value, even if treated with great care. which hire gear may not always get!
Some of us also appreciate the existence of kite shops in popular locations, for our convenience in case we need anything (including gear hire), and recognise that there is a cost in maintaining this service.
