gday all.
was at a pawn shop today, and saw a guy pawning / selling a kite board. spoke to the guy, and asked him what deck it was and he said it was a kite board. ( yeah mate, no **** )
guy didn't seem to know what model etc it was, which most / any rider would ( nice banana on it ), so it made me think maybe this guy was selling stolen gear.
so, if you have had a NORTH GAMBLER w- ENTITY straps , then let me know.
will let you know which and where shop is. cheers all.F*** kite thieves !!
maybe they just put it out for hard rubbish and the guy pawning it thought he could make a little change from it...
jokes aside, good deed mate
Lofty.... This place is called dandenong, it's the druggie , drop kick centre of the Eastern suburbs.
This guy didn't look like he habe showered in a few months, let alone gone kiteboatrding.
If he was legit, then so be it, but then he should have been able to tell me what model it was.
Just saying.
I have also had my gear stolen once, and hoped and wished everyday that somebody would find / see / report it on here or anywhere.
The wholeworld should " pass it forward more often " .... World might be a nicer place or something !!
He doesn't, the guy sounded dodgy so his giving everyone the heads up, what a champion
I am sorry, but that is what's wrong with the world today. Just because someone 'looks dodgy' does not mean they are.
We are doing the same with darker skinned people that happen to have long beards. Yeah, and it's sickening how we judge people on their appearances alone.
Who are we to judge, without evidence, eh?
Here is a funny video, but I bet he would be arrested here in Australia for (1) looking dodgy and (2) waving a steel rod around children...

Really? I know very good people that have jobs, work hard and have good families that live in the Dandenongs, so I find your stereotyping extremely insulting.
Where you from, yuppie St Kilda? With a name like Ragzilla, you are probably just as dodgy looking, as you call it.
Ohhh gee, how much we would love to live near all those beautiful people by the bay, sipping lattes whilst flexing abs and muscles down Acland St, pretending to be 'good' citizens. LOL
No one's judging anyone it's just a heads up, shall we break down the story so you understand better.
Someone trading kite gear at cashies not really what most do, but hey you never know. Who doesn't know what kind of board there selling Sounds suss to me, I've had stuff stolen from me and if someone gave me a clue like this and it led to me getting my stuff back i would buy them a carton of beer and be very greatful . lofty winds you've obviously never had the privilege of having gear stolen from you.
Mate he is just giving everyone a head up, if he is legit then no harm done.
LOL
No harm done you say?
What if the seller is Muslim or more to the point, looked like a Muslim?
Scenario: cops swoop, arrest, bash a few doors, question and later release the poor sod all because we all over reacted.
Giving 'heads up', is no different than us standing across the street from people that 'look dodgy' with pitch forks waiting for the excuse to strike.
Let the cops decide and give the 'heads up' ok?
Lofty sounds like he needs a punch in the head to knock some sense into him.
Scenario: Your North Gambler just got stolen from your car (with phone and wallet).
You go to the cash converters ragsdoll mentioned and identify the recently hocked board as your own.
Cash converters call police (they have a duty to), police politely knock on offenders door to question him. He has Loftywinds locked up in a rape dungeon and panics and confesses to stealing board but says Loftywinds consented.
You get your board back and Loftywinds has an embarrassing story to tell his wife (who has probably already left him).
The end.
Who are we to judge, without evidence, eh?
A few months ago we busted the guy who burgled me Sept 2013. He got busted because he tried to sell two kites that he knew nothing about to the wrong guy (for him anyway) who then posted his suspicions here on Seabreeze. No less than 7 burglaries were solved as a result and 30+K of stuff recovered . Maybe some of us shouldn't be so naive . J

**** mate relax... The guy just gave everyone the heads up. If its not stolen all good no harm done. Pull your head out of your arse
Nice work rags
Good on you Ragzilla for giving people the heads up.
Shame on you Lofty for being such a trollie kook
My bro in law had a gambler flogged down that way a week or so ago man....ill pm him ya details
Thanks heaps ragz
Get lofted bigoted yuppies!!
And I still stand by the fact, none of you can prove the gear was stolen. Not until the cops do their job, if at all since
raggamuffin here has yet to report it officially as he should have done, if he suspects the gear to be stolen. But he won't because the kite is not HIS to begin with.
Case closed.
It was never the issue of proving if the gear was stolen or not, he was just simply letting people know incase someones gear was stolen that this guy was selling it at cash converters and he would give the info to help give their stuff back.
Used to do occasional repair work for Cashies few years ago, they used to pack up gear in to a truck and it went inter state to another shop.......I wonder why
Good work Ragzilla.
Lofty, the days of political correctness are quickly passing with current events the way they are. Bleeding hearts pull your heads in and face reality.
hey lofty.stop asking for money to cross the bridge, cause i promise you, there is a heap more wind above the bridge then under it !
Or it could be a legitimate sale?
How do you KNOW it was stolen?
Board with a bananna. Which is last years model gambler. Worth about $800 and he doesnt know what it is. Not sus at all.
