Hello!
Any tips on how to remove these clamps? I had my hose break today and I am trying to install a new one but I am struggling to get these off. Also, thoughts on using Zip ties/Cable ties rather than sourcing and buying new clamps?
Thank you.
Dremel with the thin 1" blade to allmossstttt thru then insert screwdriver in cut and twist it with break off easy
Small flathead or something/scissor ends.....easy .pops off
Reuse the clamps keep the sets as they were the two pieces together try not to mix them up or U can get a wee bit confused
If U can't clip them back on perfectly &tight...which should be easy just use cable ties
Just make sure the cable tie has the word 'duotone' printed on it or its the end of the world apparently
...And there goes a $1000 loss on resale ..
Goodluck
I figured if he had to ask, the little screwdriver in the joint wasn't working and some dope had glued it or something..
Cable ties, in my experience, aren't UV stabilised.
IDK what cable ties you have experience with; I've had cable ties on some old kites for many years now, and no failures.

Yeah, I didn't buy them, they were given to me, probably straight off Temu, perished after a year in the garden.
Cable ties can cut the canopy if U leave a sharp end, make sure U trim it nice and blunt. Even better for canopy holes is slipping with the screwdriver while taking the blue things off, put a hard surface between

You gotto learn to unhook and stomp some ****
stop mollycoddleing your gear big dog and thinking thats what USE means
Cableties definitely degrade and poke holes in kites unless you sand the ends down and dab a little silicone on em but for you sandee i sugest you melt the cableties preferably while something distracting is on the wireless
...I have recently ordered some cable ties off Alibaba
I have to say although they took a little bit longer than temu I really like the way that they are nice and round at the end and seems to be 'pre-shaved'...I also really like the way Alibaba had formulated a dob of silicone at the end too
Compared to Bunnings&iga I am completely convinced that Alibaba stock the best hose repair cable ties in the universe
I compared brand new airush-stamped cable ties...best cable ties...F1 cable ties..and a few other brands....and lo and behold only Alibaba cable ties come in every different kite colour and are shaved at the end with the bonus dob of silicone ...
Completely recommend them
Will send the link soon ....
Lots of good points there above..
(Whatever you do don't pay anyone to put cable ties on for you....that's just ridiculous&there's no better word for it as that's blatantly ripping someone off)
Goodluck with the clips !
Duh, maybe I've just been lucky with my cheap cable-ties never poking holes in the canopy & not yet breaking down. Or maybe the fact that I positioned them properly so that canopy doesn't contact their joins, trimmed all cut ends flush with the joins, and don't leave kites laying on their backs in the sun may be helping.
No silicone involved, and no brand names either (so no chance of brand-incompatibility!)
Im not allowed to watch that because im no longer on the team since that unfortunate iguana in a cricket bag incident in costa rica can you give us the inside scoop please ?
Starting to think that wolf creek kiters club thats been clearing out my ziptie stock hasnt been finishing them properly

What bs! Never ever have I had to do this and never had a problem.
Thats cause the townsville youth steal the pointy end of the ziptie and all your left with is the nub
I remember it would take me twice as long to fill my kites up there cause they kept pinching the air everytime i looked up when pumping

Yes...
I had that problem year's ago when I was a dive instr on (or under) the yongala for a couple of months....
I went for a few sessions at ayr and townsville..and I noticed exactly the same thing!
That the end of my cable ties kept getting stolen.... Possibly a good thing so that the sharp bit didn't go into the canopy however.
The way I dealt with it is I extended about five cable ties for no reason at all ..all onto the original one that went around the hose...
Such as this pic
I found the confusing situation was a completely brilliant deterrent to potential 'end of cable tie thieves'..
R.e air yes sorry about that...that was probably me...but at the time I didn't know that you could get a perfectly good smaller version pump from temu and Alibaba..&ali express!
Neither did I know that doctor tuba actually made north airush etc&bws name patented cable ties...and thank Christ they do ...the hardest thing I've found about the whole kitesurfing thing is the lack of branded cable ties ....
