What's the best way of transporting 2 kites, a TT, harness+bar and a wetsuit in a plane?
I phoned the airline and found out I'm allowed to check in a surfboard in addition to my checked luggage.
What's the best kite travel bag?

The best travel bag is one you can borrow from a mate and costs you nothing.

This year I bought the ion core bag 165. It fit 3 kites, 2 bars, 2 boards, harness, 2 towels and some fishing gear. Might be a bit too big for your needs but I suppose you need to think about future trips where you might have more gear.

I borrowed a buddies bike bag. It was way bigger than your average board bag.

Whatever bag you get check the baggage rules for weight as each airline is different. For some you have a total weight limit for all your bags, and others each bag has to be less than 23kg or you pay excess. My kite bag has wheels so is a little heavier than some, and this year with 3 kites, harness, lines, wetsuit, TT and some repair gear it got up to 22kg.

FFS.If your gear doesnt fit..the bag is too small if it does then congratulations you now have the 'best' bag.
How many threads are on here about this! Just buy a f*cking bag and put your gear in it.

So what topics are ok by you to raise on the discussion forum? Maybe we should just shut it down as im sure most topics have been raised over the years.
Have you got anything new to share, as I would like to read an original post too?

Its a gear bag pal. This exact topic is covered numerous times. But like everything on seasbreeze it either gets over complicated or some precious little princess such as yourself has to come be the knight in shining armour

Reads like you've got a bit of anger going on there? Is it anger, frustration, or something else? Maybe your dog died? Are you injured?

From my experience when someone lashes out like this, it's people usually look to hurt others when they're in pain. Want to share?

Everybody is here to help each other ... hopefully you too.

Whichever the case, it pains me and others to see someone looking to shut down conversation, in what is, a place for conversation.

what's wrong about asking advice about a specific water sports related product on a water sports forum?

Hi flo,

Ive used one of these for the last 5 yrs for 7 o/s trips and a few in Oz, fits plenty of gear, upto 3 kites, 2 tt upto 147 x 45, wetty, bars, pump, and extra clothes

Great quality, awesome zips, strong handles, wheels one end and still going strong, bargain at $99, sold as a wakeboard travel bag

This is a great bag, its the Ion Core, 1/3 Gearbag. The bag itself weighs heaps less than any other bag I checked on scales, the empty bag weighs just 3.6kg, and all of the other "golf type bags" weighed around double this, or a tad under double. The bag is not padded all over, unlike all the golf bags. I traveled to 3 cities on the east coast recently with some interconnecting flights, so it got a workout.
There is a Zephyr in one of the shots, biggest kite I own, and 2 others easily fitted plus a 1.37x41.5TT, and its weighed in at the airport with my harness shorts rashie towel and pump with one bar at approx 22kgs, no way I could have done that with 1 golf bag.
None of my gear was damaged, I have used it all since the trip.
The Ion Core bag retails for around $195 from Ion stockists.

thanks for the reply lads. funnily enough I have purchased the ion core bag 2/4 last week (due to the low weight).
I did a test pack with 1 TT 137, a 12m, a 17m, harness, bar, impact vest, wettie, shorts, pump, towel: 22kg. there is enough space left for another kite, I will just pack all my other clothes around my kite gear and travel with 1 bag only.
Priorities ey, 22kg kite gear, 8kg other clothing. The wife is giving me a hard time already
