Not many kiters in your part of the world Winnie and a smorgasbord of spots to choose from.
The south east SA coast is one of the least known jewels in oz for kiting.
Nobody goes there as they are on their way to other better known locations and completely miss seeing it.
Robe is 1 hour away for you and a pretty good spot which is probably the best bet being nearbye , but there is better south of there also.

Get onto High As A Kite ,HAAK. He knows everyone and the area very welL.

Lake George @ Beachport (for flat water) and Robe for waves are 2 of the best places in australia to ride.

Yow win winnie

Hi Winnie,
We have heaps of flat water and waves in the south east.

Lake George is a great spot if your into flat water all year round, all directions covered. We kite there during winter when northerly hit.
Port McDonnell also has good fun flat water spots.

If you like waves then around Nene Valley and Port McDonnell are the places to go. Robe is over rated

More than happy to show you around.

Hi Eddie, are you back in Darwin?

^^^^^ Yeah mate. Sorry we didnt catch up while down there , we were all over the shop.

Mate , i know you are tough on Robe but luckily I happen to know what you are comparing it to so I will not get too upset about dissing it

But for most people it s ok. You are just very very bloody spoilt !

It was mostly 25-30 kts for the 3 months I was there - hardly any swell though. Gusty . I had forgotten about that. Wind off the land
Bomber came down and struck it lucky - good waves and good wind. So he was happy.

Might see you in Bali ? We are there 22 July to 10 Aug.

Cheers. Regards to your better half

... Actually it wasn't a first as I ended up not using one despite it being f'ing cold. The bloody cheap Chinese wettie I bought from BCF before I went was too f'ing small, I didn't fit! Eddie told me to "toughen up princess, it's only 23 degrees ya girl". Mind you the water was 16 degrees. Last time I spend a whole $43 and not try it on!! So glad I did, had rippa time!

Agree about the windshadow Ian . But it was 25-30 with bigger swell further out and it didn't seem to matter as much .

Bomber did us proud without a wettie in 18 degrees ( sorry to correct you Bomber) for 4 sessions .12 and nugget . 2 downwinders with me following - outdid me easily .

He said - you know , it's not too cold after a bit - you cant feel it ...

It was great that he had a chance to experience some SE SA coast conditions with some swell . Mabye we will bring a crew next year and head down your way for a look next time

We will have to find a bigger wettie for Bomber though.

Hello everybody,

i am just travelling around in australia and wonder about the wind down in SA during summer.

Is there any seabreeze like in WA or do the spots only work in winter ?

Thx in advance
Tom
