Anyone believe in fairies and things ? Had an interesting experience a few weeks ago when 1.5km out on my own...was going along happily and I think probably for 4-7 minutes my chicken loop had fallen off...
Normally U attach it pic 'a' ( no-no spreader bar etc this time)..
But I think I attached it pic 'b'...
Soooo... I was going along for over four minutes with the whole pull of a 9m on pic 'c'... So..the donkey dick had basically bent and was holding the whole thing
There's no way in physics that could happen with the weight of the wind and kite
Surely .it would pull the d.dick through and end up being flagged out if U didn't reach up and hold the bar stem ? (As has happened before unhooking etc)..

There's many times in life spiritual guardianship (from my mum) has come into play and this was for sure one of them..

Is there another logical explanation (Christian) for how a ddick can bend and hold the whole thing ?
Not that I can see...but go for it if anyone has one ..

Pics for reference

Anyone else had some amazing experiences where intervention from fairies or guardians however you like to see them was surely at play ??

Would like to hear them...

It had basically bent c/loop completely off I looked down and saw it ...and a bent ddick was holding the whole thing...

You need to read- passport to magonia- Jacques valle, very interesting book, with fairies in mind.

This happens so often that some instructors on the internet have started encouraging people to learn to launch a kite unhooked! (one hand on the bar and the other holding the chicken loop.

Basically what happens is that when the back lines lose tension, the chicken loop drops off the hook and only the donkey dick is holding the force. If the kite is flying high in the window you might not even notice it because it can fix itself. Normally this happens during launch where people are clipping in and walking the lines around on the beach (no line tension) but I've seen it on a downwinder where you run downwind for a bit and then make a sharp turn that powers the kite back up again.

Happens less with modern bars because the small freeride chicken loops fit tighter over the harness hooks and the plastic donkey dicks are stiffer.

Not so bad to sort on the water. If the kite is high you can probably sort it out without dropping off the foil if you can keep pumping the board whilst you hook back in again

Hiya..thanks for that. Yes that one is an older style bar I use sometimes for the super duper long lines it happened a couple of times that week that I noticed..
..and no never happened on newer ones etc ..

But how on earth is it possible for the ddick to bend(yes it is bendier) around the harness and hold the whole load of a 9m in 20kn ?
It literally bent around harness hook and held it all in place for quite a while..with all that load on it was incredible to see
... surely it would just pull through and go up? There was nothing stopping it there! Just a bent ddick...
Yes easy to readjust etc

How is this possible?
..thanks
