Just got back from a 2 day stay at Namaste Beach House at Old Bar, about 3.5 hours from Sydney. Went up there to get in some lessons and a few solid hours of kiting. Loved it! Every single person I bumped into was friendly and welcoming, especially the kiters up there.
Stu, the owner of the hotel and the kite school, is a sound guy and very patient and good at explaining. Had a couple of hours of his time on day 1 and when I got back he & Craig (another instructor) were tucking into a massive box of local oysters and cold beers and welcomed me to the table. What a way to end a good day out on the water.
On day 2 went out and had the whole lagoon to myself for the whole day, sensational!!! Could hardly hold the wheel by the time I drove back into Sydney that night. The whole 2 days with 1 night there and 2 hrs of lessons cost me far less than 1 lesson in Sydney, unreal.
On the one hand it's a place you kinda want to keep to yourself as its just an awesome spot with awesome folks but that would be doing Stu & the other guys up there a disservice so I rate it and I'll be back for sure.
Thanks guys!
Thanks for the feedback Pete. You did well to hang onto your 12m on Sunday, no wonder your arms were jelly.
You're right, the crew up here are all pretty cruisy and even better if you say hello and have a chat - we all look pretty tough :) but don't be shy.
Was great meeting you and am guessing we'll see you again shortly.
Cheers
Stu
