Hi, My name is Armando, I am from Spain.

I am going to Sydney for a long time, to study English and to find a job. Also to kite.

I would like to know how often you can kite in Sydney, also which is the speed of the wind, because at the moment I have a 9 meters kite, but I am not sure if I can use it over there.

Please help me.

Thanks.

I personally would never get a 9 for Sydney. A 12 or 13 if you want an allround kite, and if you have two kites a 17 and a 12.

The wind speed, I guess depends on the season. Maybe other guys with a bit more experience can give some advice. I don't have to many seasons under my belt.

As for wind direction, in Sydney and around you can kite in pretty much every direction.

You didn't say how heavy you are or what board you ride. But assuming you are a normal size guy(80kg) on a 135 twin tip. Your 9 will be your stronger wind kite, and a 12 will be needed for lighter days. I get away with a grunty 10m 90% of the time.

The main season is oct-april ne and se winds. average wind is between 13-25knots

What's your grunty 10m? What brand?

Armando. Check out Manly for Language schools. Good beaches and surfing too around this area. Get a cheap car for Kiting. That's help get to good locations. You should be able to sell it before you leave.
