I read in the paper that wollongong skydiving is trying to get a permit to land at warilla beach. I can't see this as a good thing for kite boarding as this is the only place we kite. One experienced skydiver died today at tawradgi. Why can't these pricks keep killing themselves at their current landing spots than wanting to risk other people and kiters at warilla. Or is it going to come to kiters having to give up our spot that we have enjoyed for the last 10 or so years to these skydiving goons because skydiving will bring money and tourists to the area. Shame Shame!!!

if its windy they end up on mount warrigal. these guys like it dead calm i would have thought, plus they want to land on the sand not the water- and think of this if they'll let sykydivers there they'll never never be able to ban a kitesurfer..

Actually it would be a great idea - both sports want complete opposite wind conditions.

Skydive till it got windy, then rig up a kite and go out.

Or maybe you could get really crazy and jump out of a plane with a kite instead of a parachute, but that's already been done...

+1 to Galah, -10 to pfr for a very narrow view of beach usage. it is not your beach I'm afraid.

I believe they will only be using it during the winter months when there arent many people on the beach. It shouldnt really be an issue then, but come summer with droves of beachgoers there, theirs no way that they would get a permit then.
