Thumbs Up

Hi locals,

My girlfriend and I have been doing lessons up in Sydney, and are soon going to be getting our gear and will be doing our own kiting things down where we live on the south coast.

Locally we will have: Gerroa, Seven Mile, Jervis Bay, and Wollumboula, to name a few.

Are there any particular points we need to know about the beaches down here regarding kiting? Any no-go zones? Local rules? Safety issues? Areas to steer clear from as beginners?

I also have a particular question about Jervis Bay. On paper it looks like a great place to go no matter what the wind direction is, just a matter of finding a beach facing the right direction so it's blowing cross onshore. Is this too good to be true? Or does it get particularly gusty in certain directions?

Many thanks!
