I've been kiting about 18 or so years. Exclusively on a surfboard (only a strapped board in strong southerlies on East Coast) and don't switch-so go toeside, using Ozone Reo kites.

My harness is a DaKine C2 with Maniac
hook on webbing slider.

Webbing as getting worn, so researched a new spreader bar set up and settle on the Mystic bar. I retrofitted the bar to the DaKine harness-a two webbing each side design, very, very easy and no issues at all. a the bar would likely easily retrofit to any two webbing harness.

The harness has 'wings' on each side end which slot inside the 'pocket' on each side of the harness-easy to insert when not wearing the harness-kinda difficult when wearing the harness.

I use a medium harness and went for the 280mm version.

The bar is incredibly light and well designed and contstructed and very well engineered. The locking/closing system is the best I've used/seen.

Rode yesterday for the first time for two hours in the surf in an 18-20 or so knot SE and small waves.

I can't talk up this spreader bar enough. It made and relatively old harness extremely comfortable and feel like a current, new, harness. The chicken loop attaches directly to the sliding ring on the dyneema rope and worked flawlessly. The rope length is great and now issue with working hard toeside upwind. No ride up and harness stayed strong and true in position.

I'd give the bar a 9.5/10-loses a .5 for the difficulty in getting the wing in when putting on-which is more an issue caused by my harness, rather than the spreader bar.

An incredible update and upgrade for my harness and well worth the expense. Happy to answer any questions.

I paid full price for the bar from Kitepower-this is an unsolicited review.

Matt
