If relevent, please fill in this template...(& remove this line)

Rider: Weight,Level (beginner,intermediate,advanced)
Style: Freeriding, Surf, Wake, Freestyle
Weather: ?-? knots
Build Quality: ?/10
Satisfaction: ?/10
Disclosure: (e.g. work at a shop/team rider etc)

My Comments:

About to buy a new Zephyr. The standard package comes with a 55 cm bar and 27m lines.

In theory should make a little more power on longer lines but react a bit slower.

Want to use the same bar with other kites and curious if anyone has flown one with 25m lines.

Probably does not make much difference.

I have mate and it works fine, I do prefer to use the 54cm bar and 27mt lines though as it is that bit more efficient, which at the end of the day you want in lighter winds.

You wont be disappointed

SVO early on in the piece we tested it with a normal 50cm ozone bar and the 25m lines. Makes a suitable difference with the bigger bar and the 27m lines.

Still reactive enough for most mortals needs.

What was said, you won't be dissappointed. My bro and I even just lately (4 times in the past week and a half) have been the only ones out for some great flat and a ocean sessions where guys with 12m either couldnt get out or couldn't be bothered taking the risk to drive all the way to the beach to see if it was possible. We just get in the car and go! We hold them down with all the other 12's and some on smaller kites.

Up until today 12m has been my biggest kite. Picked up my Zephyr on Saturday and have been waiting for the right conditions to take this beast out....

18-22 knts of beautiful SE breeze on flat water....

Have not been able to wipe the smile from my face....it was like stepping out of a Ford Falcon into an Audi, super smooooooth power delivery while boosting to the moon yeeeeeeew!

Same as you Eppo, everyone else out on 8-12m kites, after an hour I had it dialled in and was throwing it around easier than my 12

It's a quicker acting kite on the bigger bar without a doubt, if your just mincing around then the smaller bars ok, but if you want to aggressivly move it around the bigger is the go, you could have the bigger bar with 24mtrs for decent wind, then put on some 4 mtr extension, to get that extra bit of wind, however if your just looking to get going in light winds then it'd be the edges you should be looking at, had all the zephyrs and this ones the go, gets a tad heavy on the bar above 20knts, best $1600 I've spent

Thanks for the inputs.

Opted for the 27M lines.

I think up to speed now on the Z. There is no 2014 Z. Will be released next "spring" Mar-Apr. Probably more like June but who knows. Graphics and minor tweaks expected. Can get the 2013 Z with the 2014 bar for the same price as with the old bar.

Have to ship it to my friend a dealer on the mainland then he ships here to Hawaii. Will try to report back with my impressions of this beast.

I absolutely freakin love my zephyr. Everytime I see yellow arrows my eyes light up with delight. It has quadrupled my time in the water. Fav kite in my quiver. Thanks WOK

I was about to purchase the Zephyr but now Ozone have just released the Chrono in Australia (see InTheLoop for orders), and in slightly larger 18mt sizes!

I do both land and water kiting so this kite will probably be what I am really after, and being a foil kite the low packing ratio will be a bonus too.

The only thing I need to do now is wait to demo one and see what the bar is like (Infinity II I believe).
