If relevent, please fill in this template...(& remove this line)

Rider: Weight,Level (beginner,intermediate,advanced)
Style: Freeriding, Surf, Wake, Freestyle
Weather: ?-? knots
Build Quality: ?/10
Satisfaction: ?/10
Disclosure: (e.g. work at a shop/team rider etc)

My Comments:
Does anyone can comment on this kite (or on the 10,5m) upwind ability? Riding a wave down the line in a great pleasure but coming back without too much hassle is important as well.
Thanks.

I had a few runs on my friend's 2011 Religion 10.5: flat water & at the low end of it's wind range. It was hard to get it fly forward in the window, just not in its dna. From my short experience going upwind isn't the Religion's strength. It turned quick for a big kite however. For a wave kite, I'm guessing this one is more of a dedicated sort of wave kite, and not so much an all around type. It's the least favorite kite I've tried, but I'm more 30-70 waves to freeride in my style. Again there's probably nothing wrong with the Religion as long as your using it in the right venue.

Windzu the religion is a dedicated wave kite lol, haluchine I have a 10.5 and have used it probably 4 times in 7months, personally i think a 5,7,9 combo is the go, I think the 10.5 is really designed for heavier wave riders. I find on the 10.5 sweet spot for me is 15 knots anything more I start to get pulled of waves, you could seriously get going on the 7 in 18 knots on a surfboard. I do enjoy the 10.5 in lighter winds but think I could get more wind range out of a 9m just have to use a bigger board to achieve the same low end as the 10.5, if your kiting really light winds all the time or weigh 90kg+ get the 10.5 if not go the 9m.

RRD released a 12m Religion, is it a light wind or a navy rider kite? In can't go with a 10 m on 12 knots, considering that the wind might have holes. A 12m Religion (or Vison or anything drifting, fast turning for the size and with smooth power delivery) would do the job. Maybe!

12 knots is marginal would be better of buying a surfboard and surfing untill the wind picks up

I agree Prawndog, and I do surf when the waves are pushing, but sometimes I am in a place with conditions where waves have no real power and wind is light. So not fun to surf and not fun to kite surf except if I can get the the right kite (I have all kind of boards for riding different wave and wind conditions). I might have a go on 12m Vision and see...
