I'm looking for some recommendations on stronger fins for my surfboard (futures, Large/XL quad/5 set fins for 100kg rider)
I've been through a few sets of expensive and cheap ones and they all seem to crack along the sides. (And I just cracked my latest set with my ass cheek yesterday )
Or is this just the price to pay for wave kiting? I imagine a few hours of kiting is like a liftime of wear and abuse compared to just regular surfing
Cheers

I would have thought that the box would go before the fins? When you say along the side, fo you mean around the tab?
Whenever I break a fin the box is worse afterwords. They never break clean. Try Scarfini, they don't have the weight saving lines, they're solid all the way through.
Broken fin or 20 stitches?
If I were breaking fins with my rump; be looking for a blunt, soft, and flexible fin alternative- to keep my arse out of hospital!
hope the rump heals quick, you find a cost effective replacement, and a technique solution to avoid the fins next time.
yep , i'd take it as a win . if you find stronger fins you will be forever fixing fin boxes.....
That's a good point! I didn't think of that!
Yeah, was very lucky I didn't break the box with my ass aswell. It was kinda like straight direct hit to the fin, so didn't flex the box sideways
As for the cracks, I get them about half way up the side of the fin running horizontally (parallel to the board) just fatigue cracks I imagine.
But as mentioned, better off the fins than the boxes.
