just bought a 2013 12m reo for light days at the coast where we have 12-15kts regularly....currently the rest of my quiver is a wainman punch and mr green. love the mr green but the punch doesnt quite have the snappy handling that i would prefer.
i hear the new 9m reo's from 2014 and 2015 are closer to the older 10m in size and power.....beyond the sizing diffs from the last two models are there other appreciable diffs in handling characteristics that would make the newer versions worth the extra money?
My 2015 7 m north neo has similar power my 2013 10m reo. Only by a fraction the reo is bit better in lighter wind, but it is 3m2 larger.
The 2013 model for the reo is defiantly under powered!.
Www. Fly ozone, wind charts, add 5 knts bottom end due to bull****ing, and 7 to top end because of litigation worries
To me the kite seems more like an 11m. Low end wasn't terrible with the 5.4 sweet potato.
Still planing in 11-14kts.
When everyone packs up and ****s off because the wind is too stupid my 2012 6m reo is just starting to get interesting.
brohan: are you saying the older 12m are similarly powered like the newer 10m? if so is it more a matter of the newer models being actually larger than previous models per meter.
plummet: not sure what you mean? are you referring to the wind getting too strong? or too light?
Sounds about right. I haven't flown the 2015 though. I did fly the 2014 10m. I was overpowered in 23+ knots for the waves. I'm 82kg.
