Hey guys and girls dont forget that in 2 weeks time we are holding the 2012 SAKSA AGM. Details are below:
On Friday the 24th of August SAKSA is holding its 2012 Annual General Meeting at Grange Sailing Club. SAKSA will provide pizza's to all who attend around 7pm, prior to kicking of the AGM and getting down to official business around 7:30pm.
SAKSA is the state body who fights to keep beach access open throughout the state. SAKSA are constantly liaising with Councils to ensure our beaches remain open while also running events throughout the year for the local kiting community. The SAKSA committee is a dedicated bunch of guys who give up their own time to progress kiting in SA and we are constantly looking for new blood, with fresh ideas, to better our sport for the wider SA kiting community. If your interested in participating, have some fresh new ideas or just like a social drink with some enthusiastic like minded kiters then we would love to have you onboard. After all without the dedication of these volunteers, our beaches would be in jeopardy, and events such as the State Titles would not be possible. The more the merrier, as many hands make light work.
Additionally it is with much regret that SAKSA announces our current Treasurer Guster has advised he will resign from the committee this year. Guster has been with SAKSA for the past few seasons and has done an amazing job setting up SAKSA's finances, putting systems and processes in place, making the rest of the committee's job much easier.
SAKSA would like to thank Guster for all his dedication, time and effort and wish him all the best as he pursues his surfing further. That being said SAKSA is now looking for a new treasurer, preferably someone with a financial and accountancy background, to continue on with Guster good work and ensuring the SAKSA books stay in top shape. If you are interested or would like further details regarding this role or would like to express interest in joining the committee under a different capacity please email SAKSA at info@saksa.com.au.
So please come on down and share your thoughts, nominate for the committee or just come for some pizza, a few bevvies and a chat. It would be great to see some new faces down at the club and have some fresh meat (I mean faces) on the committee.
Happy kiting!
Yeah make sure you get on down for a chat and a few bevvies. Its always a great catch up and you can find out where SAKSA is heading in 2012/2013. The formalities shouldnt take too long.
Dont forget we are looking for volunteers to help out, the more the merrier and Grange Sailing Club is a family friendly place so bring down the little groms (and the partners).
The SAKSA committee is always looking for fresh new ideas so would love to have as many of u down there as possible to get some different perspectives on things, so we can get the 2013 season of to a great start.
If the wind gods are nice we might even be able to get a kite in down in front of the Sailing club just prior to the AGM, i know thats what most of the committee will be hoping for!
Hope to c u all there.
Q:What's worse than being stuck at work reading forums while the wind is blowing perfectly?
A:Prefect wind and not being allowed to kitesurf on any beach because not enough people tried to prevent it being banned.
Power to the people, SAKSA represents you by jumping through all the bureaucratic hoops, to keep the beaches accessible for all, promote kitesurfing keeping it fun and also provide insurance.
hope to see everyone tonight and keep the community going.
tell us what YOU want.
Remember we volunteer, so more hands equals more achieved
