SAKSA FREESTYLE KITEBOARDING STATE TITLES - 8th/9th Feb

Well, let's try this again, shall we?

It's on again... again... this weekend at the Grange Sailing Club, the SAKSA Freestyle Kiteboarding State Titles, proudly brought to you by The City of Charles Sturt!

The stage is set for our finest kiteboarders to battle it out for the biggest prize in our SA, the Freestyle Kiteboarding State Title!

After a call last weekend to postpone, we're expecting good conditions over at least part of this upcoming weekend, the 8th and 9th of February, to run the comp and crown some winners!

This year, with the help of our sponsors, there's over $8,000 worth of prizes up for grabs, which means that EVERY entrant WILL take something home with them. The Early Bird prize of a Sony Action Cam will be decided based on last week's Early Bird noms but there's still so much more on offer.

Every entry gets another unique merch pack including SA's awesome custom design T-shirts and a wicked SAKSA Trucker's Cap!

If you haven't signed up yet, visit www.saksa.com.au and follow the prompts through to get registered! And don't forget to tick the option to show your name on the guest list for our benefit!

As always, you don't have to be going for the title to enter. In fact, Liquid Force and BoardingHQ have come to the party with a brand new Liquid Force kiteboard that will be offered up as an encouragement award for the rider who?s seen to be not necessarily the best rider but giving it their all and full of stoke throughout the weekend!

Again the major categories include:

- Juniors - Under 18
- Amateurs - No Shop riders, no unhooked tricks
- Open Men
- Open Women
- Masters - over 35's
- Legends - over 45's and;
- The GoBig Award
- The KiteHard Award

Our home, the Grange Sailing Club will be open all weekend and is a great place to get out of the sun and watch all the action, while enjoying a beverage or two. So tell all your family and friends to come on down and support the club that supports South Australian Kitesurfing! Family BBQ passes will also be available for $5 per day, per head for your convenience.

Finally, this event would be impossible without the incredible support of these fantastic sponsors - City of Charles Sturt, Grange Sailing Club, BoardingHQ, SundaySurf Henley Beach, OnBoard, Xtreme Kites & Paddle, FSR Industries, ProAV Solutions, BSS Light Audio Visual, WSL Wine Storage & Logistics, WindSUP, Red Baron, Liquid Force, Blade, North, Cabrinha, Slingshot, Nobile, Ozone, Airush, Best and Flying Objects. Please get behind these guys and support the guys who look after as so well each year.

Its really shaping up to be a great weekend so get the word out and the SAKSA Crew look forward to seeing you all on the 8th and 9th.

SAKSA FREESTYLE KITEBOARDING STATE TITLES - UPDATE!!

Hi folks,

Registration and Briefing will be from 11am tomorrow (Saturday).

The forecast is looking like we're a chance of running a couple of heats Saturday arvo, with NW to SW conditions expected throughout the day.

In the event that we DO run some heats on Saturday, you NEED to be available. Depending on the conditions, Saturday afternoon may be used for a Big Air comp.

Please be prepared for a 9am comp start on Sunday as well. Whilst this is not guaranteed, of course, it is looking likely!

Pizza and Presentations is expected to be from 730pm on Sunday.

All competitors, if you have not signed up, please, please, please, do so by tonight! This makes a huge difference to how smoothly the weekend runs, believe it or not. If we can have a full line up first thing tomorrow morning, we can work on the draw and have it ready to go, rather than frantically trying to do it during the course of the day when there?s already so much to do.

The BBQ will of course be cranking all weekend so if there?s some standing around to be done tomorrow before the wind comes in, at least you?ll be able to chow down on a few snags.

See you out there, it?s looking all time!!

SAKSA State Freestyle Titles - wrap up!

(Get ready for War & Peace, kiddies!)

Yet again, what an incredible weekend of competition for the SAKSA State Freestyle Kiteboarding Titles, held at Grange Sailing Club!

Unlike in previous years, the wind came out to play giving us a solid breeze with some tricky water conditions all day on the Sunday and results were achieve in all categories.

Firstly, we’d love to say a huge thanks to the 46 competitors who entered the comp! Without competitors, there’s just no competition, so if you were in it to win it, or just out there to mow the lawn and collect your free merch, you’re the reason we hold these titles events every year!

We’d also love to send out a huge thanks to our sponsors, who’ve generously helped SAKSA out this year in many ways. When you’re holding an event, or looking for some new gear, make sure you stop by these great organizations and businesses and give back to those who’ve so generously given to the kitesurfing community!
