Hey everyone!

On Friday 21 November 2014, SAKSA will once again hold a safety and general information night for anyone interested in kitesurfing.

Whether you’re just curious about kiting or have been enjoying the sport for years, this night is open to all. It’s a pretty informal event with open discussions and plenty of opportunity to ask those questions you’ve had on your mind for a while. It’s a great forum for newcomers to learn from experienced kiters, and the experienced kiters to give something back to the next generation of this great sport. Most of all though, you’ll get to know each other a bit which will help to keep kiting in SA safe and fun.

The night will start from about 7pm onwards at the Grange Sailing Club. You DON’T need to be a SAKSA member to attend this event, it is open to anyone. SAKSA will be putting on some pizzas, and the bar at the sailing club will be open, so come down for a few drinks and let’s make it a fun night!

Some of the topics we’ll cover will be give way rules, local kite rules (both on flat water and in the waves/surf), water pack downs, weather conditions, tides and there’s always a few stories going around that’ll give you an insight into how to deal with unexpected situations.

If anyone has any questions about the event, feel free to contact us in person, through the SAKSA Facebook page or on Seabreeze.

Hope to see you on Friday the 21st of November!

Cheers,
Elise Potharst and Matt Stringer
