Hello all,
Im coming back to visit adelaide during the whole of december and I really wants to kite while im over. I dont know if I can bring the kiting gear since a few of my flights are with jetstar and I have heard that they dont like extra bags. Does anyone know if they usally let you bring an extra bag? If you have to pay for it how much that could be?
Cheers Johan
Hi,
The wife is a travel agent. Extra baggage can be up to $10 a kilo depending on what sort of ticket you have. A kite weight is around 5.5 kg plus a board could be a little pricey.
Why don't you post or send the gear over would be cheaper.
I think red Barron kite school hires gear.
If you dont bring your gear you will regret it. So spend the extra cash and get your own gear over here. Also itll probably be cheaper to bring your gear over on the plane than to hire a kite for a month...And you ll have alot more fun on your own gear.
Could be a perfect time to upgrade get a new kite and board. Youl only have to fork out postage one way.
Or just grab your harness and start demoing all the new kites/boards you can on the windy days by the time you finish giving them all a good try it will be time to go home,
no one hires out kite gear in SA the insurance risk is way too high. Best bet is to bring your own gear or borrow from a mate.
You could always buy my 07 north rebal and naish 142 haze and dakine harness
$850 the lot perfect for adelaide
Thanks for all the information. I will get a good traveling bag and bring my own gear. See you all on the beach. I will be there every day in december.
Cheers,
Johan
