Hey Willy B myself and my wife are moving to Canberra around August
if you search in kitesurfing genral and look for the topic Bollocks.
there is some good infomation on kiteing lake burley griffiths and i hear lake George is kiteable. when i get there I will be doing regular trips to Batemans Bay and probably Sydney/Melbourne, but that is not for a while.
also look up Canberra kite club for land boarding

you can also try Burrenjuck dam its about 45min to an hour out of canberra towards yass and a huge dam. its windy there most days. but take some shoes as its a rocky bottom.
