Is there anywhere to stay? I looked a little while back and the place was fully booked up. This virus must be doing wonders for the Exmouth Economy. If only it wasn't a 12 hour drive!

The whole place is fully booked mate. Tourism is up 58% thanks to the Rona. I booked over 3 months ago for Sep/Oct and I scored one of the last registered camp sites...Might be some overflow in the town centre but its a bit of a trek each day to graveyards/sandybay.

We're driving up tomorrow, forecast is still a little limp, but I guarantee if I don't bring my gear it will be pumping all week. Any recommendations on places to kite?

Hey Tom, heading up at the end of the month and staying at lighthouse so will call in to the shop or see you at Graveyards... have a couple of mates heading up as well so we're hoping for some wind and a few waves and some beers with a local
graveyards is fun wind & waves, plenty of turtle orgies too
Agree! Friday was sweet! Not wrong on the turtles. I have never seen so many. Massive turtle orgy going down

Friday wasn't just sweet, it was bloody epic, I wasn't at Graveyards though.
I surfed the same spot in the morning as I kited in the afternoon and couldn't believe how much the swell jacked up.
I was up there for a month, surf foiling and winging mainly, I hardly kite anymore and only wave kited once but it was Soooo good.
Hey Guys, on a separate note I have been having discuss\ions with the local kiters, board riders club and general Exmouth surfing public and we are asking for traveling Kiters to be respectful at Wobiri Beach and not kite through the surf break which is frequented bay families and learner surfers. We really don't want to be kill joy but are asking kiters to not forget general etiquette just because they are away from home
Yesterday the surf school had a group of local school kids on a lesson and we had to instruct 3 separate kiters not to kite close to, upwind and on one occasion directly through the surf lesson. This is not a good look for us as kiters so please keep your distances and play by the same rules you would at home.
Realistically there are way better locations than kiting in the shore break and surf zone where the learner surfers are, if you aren't sure please feel free to pop by the shop and we can help you choose the best kiting locations, there are heaps and heaps all the way up and down the coast
Had an awesome session at Graveyards last friday, great start to the season! +1 about the turtles, so many hanging around..
Was staying at the lighthouse caravan park and watching a lone kiter and poley on the bombie earlier in the day, looks to be a great setup, but wasn't game to try on own without any intel, can anyone share some local knowledge?

Watch for the wind shadow on the inside and be careful and be prepared for a big swim.
If it turns offshore, which it can and does often do late arvo you will have trouble getting in.
As suggested call into the Exmouth Surf Centre, (which is on the left just as you come into town) for some good advise and all your surfing and kiting needs.
Dj shadow and if caught out head straight to dunes you will feel it go east and you need to be sure there's enough power to get back to at least the edge of hunters.. No matter what don't do your first few sessions there (at the bommie) alone without someone whose done it before.. Mainly to be aware of any wind changes.. .. Unless you completely know what you are doing
