Heya
my boyfriend and I are travelling to Perth in about 2 weeks. I have a few questions if anyone can help?? 1. Any tips on best spots for a beginner with shallow and flat water?
2. What wind speed should we expect?
And 3, what's the best platform to buy a 2nd hand board (or hire) for the week?
Thanks
Hi,
our location guide will answer your first question: www.kitebud.com.au/locations/
There is a filter at the bottom of the map where you can choose the skill level, shallow vs deep, etc.
Wind Speeds ? Anything from zero to 25 knots... winds are usually moderate in February so probably an average of 18-20k knots most days (You will get lighter days and stronger days as well) and don't expect to be able to kite every single day.
what's the best platform to buy a 2nd hand board (or hire) for the week?
marketplace, gumtree, seabreeze buy and sell, local kite shops.
What board size are you looking for, what is your budget ? We may be able to help.
Thanks

Hi....R.e gear...
..there are heaps of twintips around on marketplace : probably as so many people have gone 'foiling'
I came across some people who scored a really brilliant one for fifty dollars!...couldn't believe it !
I am busy waiting for a duotone sls to pop up on marketplace for $200 ...I am pretty convinced it's going to happen soon...!.....
....waiting ......
....waiting.....
Goodluck..
For shallow water you have the river (Melville/Applecross) and safety bay (outside of the pond on the sand bar).
Safety bay would be better for the wind (less gusty) and spot less risky (there are trees around the launch area on the river), but it's a 50min drive south of Perth.
